Nearly half of young Americans believe Israel intentionally murders civilians, shows survey

Washington (Quds News Network) – A recent survey conducted by The New York Times/Siena College reveals that 48% of young Americans believe Israel is intentionally causing civilian casualties in the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
The poll, published on Tuesday, also indicates that three-quarters of respondents in this age group feel that Israel is not doing enough to prevent civilian casualties.
The generational divide is stark, with those aged 18-29 expressing criticism of President Joe Biden’s approach to the Gaza war and support for Israel. In contrast, the majority of respondents aged 65 and older advocate for continued U.S. support for Israel’s military campaign, which has now entered its third month.
The survey shows a significant disapproval among younger Americans towards Israel’s actions, with nearly 70% suggesting that Israel should cease the war even if its goals of securing hostages and eliminating Hamas are not achieved.
Furthermore, 46% of young respondents expressed sympathy for Palestinians, compared to 27% who sympathized with Israel. Over 70% disapprove of President Biden’s handling of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The U.S. has consistently supported Israel throughout the conflict, offering diplomatic backing and billions of dollars in military aid.
However, recent reports about the use of American-supplied white phosphorus by Israel against civilians have intensified scrutiny of the U.S. military support to Israel
