Naim Qassem: We Do Not Rely on US Elections, They Hold No Value for Us

Beirut (Quds News Network)— Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Naim Qassem asserted that the group’s primary goal remains to prevent Israeli occupation forces from achieving their objectives. Qassem emphasized that the continuation of the aggressive war depends on the battlefield, as Hezbollah’s rockets and drones can reach any point within Israel. This remark follows the election of Republican candidate Donald Trump, which Qassem dismissed, stating that US elections do not affect Hezbollah’s stance.
Naim Qassem outlined three core strengths that he says empower Hezbollah: a deep-rooted Islamic ideology motivating steadfastness in defending what is right, fighters who have dedicated their lives to their cause, and significant readiness for confrontation with the Israeli occupation.
He contrasted this with Israel’s reliance on civilian attacks, military air superiority, and substantial support from the US, which he referred to as “the Great Satan.”
Highlighting Israel’s long-term ambitions, Qassem stated that Israel and its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are seeking to expand beyond Gaza and Lebanon, with the aim of making Lebanon a region under indirect Israeli control, similar to the West Bank.
As Israel intensifies its attacks on Lebanon, Qassem affirmed Hezbollah’s capability to retaliate within Israel’s borders, asserting that no area would be safe from Hezbollah’s aerial capabilities.
He also criticized the role of the Lebanese army and UNIFIL following a recent Israeli commando operation in northern Lebanon, urging for a formal response to this security breach.
