‘Most Horrific’: Israeli Siege on Northern Gaza Kills or Leaves Over 5,000 Palestinians Missing in 100 Days
Gaza (Quds News Network)- Israel’s siege on northern Gaza has killed or left 5,000 people missing in just 100 days, according to Gaza’s Government Media Office, which describes it as “the most horrific form of ethnic cleansing, displacement, and destruction.”
On Sunday, the Office reported that another 9,500 Palestinians were injured in the Israeli military operation in the north, while 2,600, including women and children, were arrested by Israeli forces.
The Office also described the Israeli siege as “the most horrific form of ethnic cleansing, displacement, and destruction,” affecting hundreds of thousands in the war-torn region.
On October 5, 2024, the Israeli military launched an operation in northern Gaza as part of its implementation of the "Generals' Plan," despite widespread condemnations from human rights organizations. The plan aims to ethnically cleanse the northern Gaza Strip, followed by a siege that blocks humanitarian supplies, starving out anyone remaining, including Palestinian fighters.
Israeli human rights group B'Tselem's executive director, Yuli Novak, said: “The Israeli regime has turned its prisons into a network of torture camps for Palestinians, as part of a coordinated onslaught intended to destroy Palestinian society as a collective.”
Israel says it will open the Rafah crossing only for individuals and under full Israeli control, while continuing to block the entry of aid and goods into Gaza, tying any broader opening to the recovery of an Israeli soldier’s body despite the ceasefire terms.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi says the Justice Department will seek the death penalty for Elias Rodriguez after an incident against former Israeli soldiers at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, a move she announced at a Florida Zionist conference while framing the case within a broader crackdown on alleged ‘antisemitism’ .
