Morocco 1-0 Portugal: Morocco makes history at FIFA World Cup
Doha (QNN)- Morocco makes history as the first African team to reach the semi-finals at the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar today.
Ronaldo leaves the field in tears, but in this game, the Atlas Lions have written their names in the history books, no matter what happens in the next game.
In 1970, Morocco was the first African team to earn a point. In 1986, it was the first African team to reach the knockouts. In 2022, Morocco becomes the first African team to reach the semifinals.
“We came up against a really great Portugal team,” Morocco coach Regragui ecstatic told France’s TF1.
“We’re drawing on all we have, we still have guys injured. I told the guys before the match we had to write history for Africa. I’m very, very happy.”
