Indescribable destruction
The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, stated on Saturday that the level of destruction surrounding Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, which is undergoing a devastating Israeli war, is beyond description.
He explained in a post on the X platform that the World Health Organization and its partners managed to reach Al-Shifa Hospital in northern Gaza to deliver 19,000 liters of fuel after more than a month.
Ghebreyesus stated that the organization provided treatment for 50 children suffering from acute malnutrition and life-saving medical supplies to 150 patients.
He mentioned that more than 240 patients receive health services from a large number of volunteer healthcare workers, noting that services are extremely limited due to the shortage of medical supplies, fuel, water, and food.
Last week, the organization stated that the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza has caused unprecedented destruction that will take decades to repair.
It is worth noting that Israeli forces targeted dozens of Palestinians last Wednesday as they gathered to receive humanitarian aid at the Al-Nablusi roundabout on Rashid Street, north of Gaza City. This led to the martyrdom of 116 Palestinians and the injury of about 800 others in the massacre now known as the “Flour Mill Massacre.”
Since the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation carried out by the Palestinian resistance on October 7, Israel has been waging a destructive war on the Gaza Strip, leaving tens of thousands of martyrs and wounded, mostly children and women, and causing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.
