Ministry Calls Healthcare Conditions in North Gaza ‘Catastrophic’

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Gaza’s Ministry of Health has described healthcare conditions in northern Gaza as “catastrophic,” following more than three months of Israeli siege and relentless attacks.

The Ministry said medical aid entering the Gaza Strip is minimal and many supplies remain unavailable. It added it has contacted international bodies to restart the severely damaged Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza.

Northern Gaza has been under an Israeli siege for more than three months, with a near-total blockade on aid and relentless air attacks. The area has three public hospitals – Kamal Adwan, Beit Hanoon and the Indonesian Hospital – all of which have been taken out of service by Israel’s offensive.

Healthcare in the Gaza Strip has been pushed to the brink of collapse amid repeated attacks by Israeli forces.

The Indonesian Hospital is no longer treating patients or wounded, the Ministry said on Sunday.

Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya was cleared of patients and staff and it was severely burned by the Israeli army in late December. Hussam Abu Safiya, the director of the hospital, was also arrested by Israeli forces during their raid on the hospital.

Al-Awda Hospital has also been damaged due to repeated Israeli attacks.
