Military Court in Gaza Gives Israel’s Yasser Abu Shabab 10 Days to Surrender

Gaza (Quds News Network)- The Revolutionary Court under the Military Judiciary in Gaza has given the Israeli-backed warlord Yasser Abu Shabab ten days to surrender, starting Wednesday, July 2, 2025. The court seeks to prosecute him for serious charges under Palestinian law.
In an official statement, the court said the decision is based on the Palestinian Penal Code No. 16 of 1960 and the Revolutionary Procedures Law of 1979.
Abu Shabab is accused of treason and collaboration with hostile entities, forming an armed gang, and leading an armed rebellion. These charges fall under Articles 131, 176, and 168 of the penal code.
The court warned that if Abu Shabab does not turn himself in by the deadline, he will be declared a fugitive and tried in absentia. Authorities called on anyone who knows his whereabouts to report him immediately. Those who fail to do so may be charged with hiding a fugitive from justice.
This case marks one of the most high-profile prosecutions by Gaza’s military judiciary in recent months, as authorities tighten security measures amid the ongoing genocide.
Security forces in Gaza have been pursuing Yasser Abu Shabab, born on February 27, 1990, since late last year. He formed an armed gang made up of drug dealers and former ISIS affiliates, operating under direct orders from the Israeli military in the eastern areas of Rafah, now under Israeli control.
Abu Shabab’s group committed multiple crimes, including killing civilians, targeting Palestinian resistance fighters under Israeli orders, and looting humanitarian aid amid an Israeli-made famine. The aid was reportedly stolen as soon as it entered Gaza through the Karem Abu Salem crossing, located southeast of Rafah.
Authorities say this gang is part of a broader Israeli strategy. The Israeli army has been backing armed groups inside Gaza in an effort to destabilize internal security and push forward its agenda. These groups are being used to further the blockade and starvation policies that have affected over two million Palestinians in the besieged strip.
