Massive demonstrations in Yemen condemn Israeli genocide, US aggression on Yemen

Sanaa (Quds News Network) – Thousands of demonstrators have flooded the streets of Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people and condemning the U.S.-led aggression on Yemen amid Israel’s ongoing war of genocide on Gaza.

Reporting from the protest scene on Friday, local reports conveyed a strong sentiment among the crowd, vowing to persist in their support for Palestinians, denouncing what they said was the American complicity in the ongoing genocide.

“We don’t care about your rage, we don’t care about whatever you do to us; we will continue our support and resilience with Palestinians until Israel stops its war on Palestine,” declared many in the gathering, as conveyed by Al Jazeera’s Mohammed al-Attab.

Beyond expressing solidarity with Palestinians, the demonstrators voiced their opposition to US attacks on Yemen and criticized the recent designation of the Houthis as a “terrorist group” by the United States.

The Biden administration re-listed Yemen’s Houthi movement as a “Specially Designated Global Terrorist” group on Wednesday, citing their attacks on Israeli and Israeli-bound ships in the Red Sea.

In response to the Houthi-led attacks on Israeli targets, the US initiated airstrikes on Yemeni sites since the previous week. The Houthis, in turn, declared that their attacks on ships would persist until Israel ceases its military campaign of genocide in Gaza.

The demonstrations extended beyond Sanaa, with additional rallies reported in various regions of Yemen, including Hodeidah in the west, Hajjah and Saada provinces in the northwest, southwestern Taiz province, and Al-Bayda province in central Yemen.

According to Houthi-run Al-Masirah channel, these gatherings underscored widespread opposition to both Israeli atrocities and the recent U.S.-led attack on Yemen.
