Maldives stands with Palestine on Int’l Day of Solidarity with Palestinians
Malé (QNN)- The Republic of Maldives has reiterated its support for the Palestinians on the International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid, wrote, “Every year on #PalestineDay, we reiterate our call for a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders with an independent & free State of #Palestine.”
“#Maldives stands in solidarity with Palestine in their quest to achieve their inalienable rights & a future of dignity and security,” Shahid added.
In 1977, the General Assembly called for the annual observance of 29 November as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People (resolution 32/40 B). On that day, in 1947, the Assembly adopted the resolution on the partition of Palestine (resolution 181 (II)).
