Macron complains about Israel’s interference before elections
Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- French President Emmanuel Macron complained to Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu about Israeli ministers’ interference in the French elections before they were organized and emphasized that “this is unacceptable”, reported Axios.
During a phone call last week, Macron protested to Netanyahu about interference by Israel’s Diaspora Minister Amichai Chikli in the French parliamentary elections. Chikli expressed public support for Marine Le Pen’s far-right party a few weeks before the EU parliament elections and the French parliamentary elections the EU parliament elections and the French parliamentary elections.
Chikli, who also serves as the minister responsible for combating anti-Semitism in the occupation state of Israel, has been maintaining ties with Nazi and far-right parties in Europe.
A few days before France’s elections, Chikli said on Israeli radio that he believes that if Le Pen becomes president of France “it will be good for Israel”, adding that Netanyahu thinks like him.
Last May, a few days before the European Parliament elections, he attended a conference of far-right parties in Europe and took a picture with Marine Le Pen. He also posted a tweet showing support for Le Pen and criticizing Macron.
According to Axios, following the phone call Netanyahu told Macron that he instructed all government ministers not to speak publicly about the French parliamentary elections but even after Netanyahu’s promise, Chikli continued to speak publicly on the subject and praise Le pen.
