Maariv: Moshe Dayan was antique smuggler

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- A new report by the Israeli Maariv revealed that the Israeli former Minister of War Moshe Dayan was stealing and smuggling antiques from Sinai.

The Israeli newspaper added that Dayan continued to smuggle Egyptian antiques during the period between 1967 and 1973 when the occupation state waged wars on Egypt.

Maariv’s journalist Ido Dissentshik revealed that his father, Arie, who was an editor at Marriv, had caught Dayan in the act, stealing antiques in Sinai while he was serving in the Israeli reserve forces.

He added that Dayan was supervising diggings that aimed at finding antiques before he was stealing and smuggling them to his house.

According to Dissentshik, Dayan was carrying out his diggings in Serabit el-Khadim in the southwest Sinai Peninsula in Egypt then he was smuggling the antiques in bags that were being carried in a helicopter.

Maariv had only revealed that Dayan was a smuggler in 1981 after he retired from politics.
