Longest-serving Jordanian prisoner released after 20 years in Israeli jails
Israeli occupation authorities have released the Jordanian prisoner Abdullah Abu Jaber after serving over 20 years in Israeli jails.
Abu Jaber, who is the longest serving Jordanian prisoner, was handed over to the authorities in Amman on Tuesday, as he served 20 years in the jails.
The 44-year-old prisoner was arrested in December 2000. During his jail term, his family was able to visit him only twice.
Abu Jaber is one of 22 Jordanian prisoners imprisoned in the Israeli occupation jails.
He was one of thousands of Jordanians who found casual work in the Israeli-occupied territories.
During his jail term, Abdullah started several hunger strikes, the longest began in late 2015 and ended in early 2016, lasting for 70 days.
