Locals of Deir Jarir recover 40 dunums of stolen land

Ramallah (QNN)- Farmers from the village of Deir Jarir in eastern Ramallah on Tuesday succeeded in recovering 40 dunums of their land, which has been stolen by Israeli settlers.

This comes following continuous efforts by locals, which led to empty the area and allow lands’ owners to reach them.

The head of the village council, Ayman Alawi, said this is a victory of the villagers against the occupation and settlers.

He added that 60 families benefit from the recovered land, noting that Israeli settlers had set a tent on the Shurfa mountain and started digging in the land after preventing land owners from reaching the area.

The locals of the village have been organizing weekly protests trying to recover the land.
