Gaza (Quds News Network)- Israeli naval forces shot a Palestinian youth who was sitting peacefully and livestreaming at Gaza Port, despite clearly posing no threat. On July 12, the Israeli military imposed a ban on access to the sea along the Gaza coast, prohibiting residents from swimming and fishing. In the Israeli-besieged Gaza, where every path is blocked by Israel amid heavy bombardment and forced displacement threats, the sea stood as the last open horizon, until Israel’s latest threat turned even that into a danger zone. Many fishermen are now relying on fishing as their main source of income, and some people in Gaza are turning to fish as a source of protein amid Israel’s blockade on food. Gazans have called the ban an attack on their last breath of freedom. However, many have chosen to defy the Israeli ban in an act of resistance against the war on all aspects of life in Gaza.
