Many anti occupation athletes withdraw from contests, in which they should play against Israeli athletes. A step, which they take to boycott the occupation state because of its inhumane practices against Palestinians.

The occupation state has been committing continuous violations against Palestinians. Some violations are being committed against sports.

Last month, Israeli forces attacked a soccer tournament for Palestinian families in occupied Jerusalem and arrested the organizers. Israeli forces as well continue to snipe Palestinian protesters, some of whom were only playing soccer on border areas, causing many of them to lose limbs. Therefore, amputee football teams and a special tournament for them have become a common thing in Gaza.
