Leaving 5 million occupied natives unvaccinated… ‘Israel’ reopens to fully vaccinated ‘Green Pass’ holders

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The occupation state of ‘Israel’ has opened most of its economy as part of its final phase of lifting coronavirus lockdown restrictions, leaving over 5 million native Palestinians in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and Gaza unvaccinated.

The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday morning enjoyed a cappuccino and cake on the terrace of a cafe to mark the broadest reopening of the Israeli economy since the first coronavirus lockdown began a year ago.

The Israeli government approved the easing of limitations Saturday night, including the reopening of the main international airport to a limited number of incoming passengers each day.

Over 52% of Israelis have received one dose and almost 40% have had two doses of the Pfizer vaccine, one of the highest rates in the world.

‘Israel’ launched its green pass programme last month, allowing controlled numbers of people with proof of full vaccination — or those who had recovered from Covid-19 — to enter gyms, pools and other facilities.

Meanwhile, over 5 million native Palestinians in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and Gaza, occupied by ‘Israel’, remain deprived of the vaccine. The occupation state has faced widespread calls, including from the United Nations, to ensure inoculations of Palestinians living under occupation in the West Bank, and those in Israeli-blockaded Gaza.

Oxfam has called an Israeli decision to send surplus vaccines to the Czech Republic, Hungary, Honduras, and Guatemala, while Palestinians are waiting as “shameful and shortsighted.”

Last month, the occupation state blocked the entry of the first shipment of COVID-19 vaccine into Gaza today. Meanwhile, a report by Bloomberg revealed that the Israeli authorities have been stocking up thousands of extra COVID vaccine shots in order to use them as a bargaining chip.
