Khamenei: Iran Ready to Defend Tehran Amid Trump’s Threats and Israeli Incitement

Tehran (Quds News Network)- Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that the country’s armed forces are fully prepared to defend Tehran. He affirmed that the military has the support of both government officials and the Iranian people.
His remarks come responding to direct threats from US President Donald Trump and Israeli calls for regime change in Iran.
Khamenei stressed that Iran “will not accept war or peace being forced upon it.” Addressing the US, he warned, “Iran will not surrender. Any American attack will have severe, irreversible consequences.”
He also said that the Iranian people remain firm in the face of the “forced war,” and that they will not bow to foreign dictates. “Those who know Iran’s history,” he added, “know well that Iranians do not respond well to threats.”
In response to Israeli actions, Khamenei declared: “Iran will never forgive the Zionist entity for violating its airspace. It will not forget the blood of its martyrs.” He warned Israel that its attack on Iran was a “grave mistake,” and vowed that “Tel Aviv will pay the price.”
Earlier today, Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Ali Bahreini, warned that Tehran will respond directly to the United States if it concludes that Washington was involved in last week’s strikes on the capital.
On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump issued a direct threat to assassinate Khamenei. “He’s an easy target,” Trump claimed. “We know where exactly he is hiding… We are not going to take him out (kill), at least not for now.” Trump also demanded Iran’s unconditional surrender and said US patience was “wearing thin.”
On Friday, following Israel’s attack on Tehran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly called on the Iranian people to stand against their government. “You have a chance to get rid of them,” he said.
