Khalil Al-Hayya: Lebanon, Iran, and the Resistance Will Not Let the Assassination of Haniyeh Pass

Tehran (Quds News Network)- Khalil Al-Hayya, Deputy Head of Hamas in Gaza, stated that Lebanon, Iran, and the resistance will not allow the assassination of the national leader Ismail Haniyeh to go unpunished, and neither will our resistance and the Al-Qassam Brigades.

Speaking at a press conference in Tehran on Wednesday, Al-Hayya emphasized that the occupation state of Israel is aware that Iran and resistance factions will not let this assassination go unchallenged. He noted that they have heard from various leaders, including the Supreme Leader of Iran, who have vowed to respond to this aggression that took place on Iranian soil.

Al-Hayya clarified that this grievous event was neither an intelligence triumph nor a significant achievement for the Zionist enemy who committed this crime, as Haniyeh was communicating and meeting with delegations and visitors as an official guest of Iran and was not in a secret place or away from the spotlight.

He stressed that the enemy’s actions are aimed at igniting the entire region. “The enemy wants to inflame the region to distract from its failures to achieve its objective”, he stated.

Al-Hayya reiterated that Israel is not seeking an agreement or deal but continues its aggression despite its failures, resorting to killing and destruction as a means to advance its agenda.

The criminal, murderous occupation challenges the world today. The Zionist entity is a war instigator seeking to set the region ablaze, striking Lebanon and Iran with full knowledge of the consequences.

Al-Hayya said: “Leader Ismail Haniyeh was at the heart of a political demonstration during the Iranian president’s inauguration, surrounded by international, Arab, and Muslim politicians, all welcoming and taking photos with him. This image debunked the occupation’s claim that the resistance is isolated. This resentment from the occupation was vented through a sudden attack.”

He further stated: “The notion that this is an achievement for the occupation state is utterly false. The enemy has tried since the Al-Aqsa flood to isolate the resistance and label it negatively to create global isolation. However, they were surprised to see leader Ismail Haniyeh visiting numerous global, Arab, and Islamic capitals, from Russia to Malaysia to Iran to Qatar to Egypt to Turkey to Lebanon to Algeria to Mauritania to Morocco. These movements, along with other resistance groups the Zionist enemy tried to discredit, are active in capitals and welcomed by politicians, causing the occupation much frustration, particularly witnessing the political demonstration led by Ismail Haniyeh yesterday.”

Reflecting on Haniyeh’s legacy, Al-Hayya said that leader Ismail Haniyeh dedicated his life to his religion, cause, and homeland. He lived as a diligent fighter, a skilled politician, an energetic unionist, endured imprisonment by the occupation state of Israel, and traveled far and wide, never wavering in his service to his homeland, cause, and nation.

Al-Hayya concluded: “The Hamas movement and the Palestinian people, who have been upholding the banner of resistance for 76 years in defense of their cause and homeland, will not halt the resistance journey, not with the martyrdom of a leader or ten leaders or any other losses. The path of Zionist crimes has claimed many leaders from our people, only strengthening their resolve. Hamas remains steadfast on this path, having lost dozens of its founding leaders, including Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, the movement’s founder, and most recently, the martyr leader Ismail Haniyeh.”
