Jordan Proposes Exiling 3,000 Hamas Members and Disarming Resistance to Halt Israeli Genocide

Amman (Quds News Network)- Jordan has proposed a plan to expel 3,000 Hamas members, including military and civilian leaders, from the Gaza Strip to stop Israel’s Gaza genocide, reported the Middle East Eye.

The initiative aims to disarm Hamas and other resistance factions, enabling the notorious Palestinian Authority (PA) to assume control over Gaza. This proposal aligns with previous suggestions, such as Israeli commander Gal Hirsch’s plan to allow Hamas leaders to depart Gaza in exchange for the release of Israeli prisoners.

The proposal coincides with Israel’s escalation of air strikes in Gaza. On March 18, Israeli fighter jets conducted air strikes across Gaza, killing at least 404 civilians, including nearly 200 children. Since then, continuous Israeli attacks have caused an additional 300 Palestinian deaths.

Since October 2023, Israeli forces have killed over 50,000 Palestinians, including nearly 18,000 children, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

Israeli officials have repeatedly stated that the aim of the war in Gaza is to wipe out the Palestinian people and reoccupy the strip. The high toll of civilian casualties aligns with those statements.

The ceasefire agreement, initiated on January 19, included halting hostilities, exchanging prisoners, and facilitating the return of displaced Palestinians. However, Israel’s refusal to proceed to the second phase has led to resumed violence.

Hamas has expressed willingness to resume negotiations, despite Israel’s breach of the ceasefire. U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff has criticized Hama, accusing them of rejecting peace deals and being responsible for renewed fighting.

Jordan has consistently rejected proposals to resettle Palestinians from Gaza, emphasizing that Palestinians cannot be transferred from Gaza.
