Jill Stein Rejects European Greens’ Call to Withdraw, Invites Them to Stop Supporting Gaza Genocide and US Election Interference

Chicago (Quds News Network)- Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein responded forcefully after European Green parties issued a statement urging her to withdraw from the US presidential race and endorse Kamala Harris to prevent a potential Donald Trump victory.

In her response, Stein invited the European Greens to stop supporting genocide in Gaza and “suppressing democracy in US elections,” underscoring a stark rift within global Green movements over political stances and humanitarian crises.

Stein’s statement came after the European Green Party coalition, representing parties from across Europe, urged her to step down, citing the need to prevent Trump from reclaiming the White House.

European Greens warned that Trump’s policies would jeopardize democracy and exacerbate the climate crisis. They described Harris as the only viable candidate to block Trump’s “ultra-conservative” agenda and address urgent global challenges, including climate change and “Middle Eastern conflicts”.

European Greens also clarified that the US Green Party, under Stein’s leadership, no longer aligns with their international values and is not a member of the global Green Party network.

Stein’s campaign has gained significant traction among American anti-genocide voters. A recent poll by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) revealed a statistical tie between Stein and Harris, with 42% of Muslim voters supporting Stein and 41% backing Harris. This surge in support among Muslim voters, largely attributed to Muslim Americans’ disapproval of US foreign policy on Gaza, reflects growing frustration with mainstream candidates’ positions on the Israeli genocide in Gaza.

Stein’s rebuttal and CAIR’s poll signal potential shifts in the 2024 US presidential race dynamics, as divisions deepen among Green parties internationally over key issues like Gaza, democracy, and climate policy.
