Italian dock workers refuse to load arms shipment destined to ‘Israel’

Tuscany (QNN)- A syndicate of port workers in the Italian city of Livorno in Tuscany on Friday protested a weapons and explosives shipment after discovering it was destined for the Israeli port of occupied Asdood and rejected to load it.

The Autonomous Collective of Port Workers of Genoa and the WeaponWatch association, the port workers, learned that the ship was filled with weapons and explosives bound for the Israeli dock of occupied Asdood. The union announced shortly after that it would not allow this or any other maritime shipments of armaments to set sail for the occupation state.

The “weapons and explosives…will be used to kill the Palestinian population already hit by a severe attack this very night that has caused [the deaths of] hundreds of victims among the civilian population, including many children,” Italian online newspaper Contropiano reported.

The L’Unione Sindacale di Base (USB) said in a statement that “the port of Livorno will not be an accomplice in the massacre of the Palestinian people.”

The USB said the ship contained “weapons and explosives that will serve to kill the Palestinian population”, citing research by a Genoa-based campaign group called The Weapon Watch.

The occupation state has killed over 200 native Palestinians in the Gaza strip and over 10 others in the West Bank during the last week. Hundreds were wounded as well throughout all cities of Palestine.
