Israel’s spaceship crashes on moon
Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Israel’s Beresheet space probe has crashed on Thursday into the surface of the moon, the Israeli space agency has said in a tweet.
The first privately funded mission to the Moon has crashed on the lunar surface after the apparent failure of its main engine.
Only government space agencies from the former Soviet Union, the US and China have made successful moon landings.
“We didn’t make it, but we definitely tried,” said project originator and major backer Morris Kahn.
Israel had aimed to become only the fourth nation, after the United States, the former Soviet Union and China, to send a spacecraft to a soft landing on the moon, however it failed.
