Israeli website: War Minister Yoav Gallant attempts to break into Netanyahu’s office

Tel Aviv (Quds News Network) – Israeli War Minister Yoav Gallant has attempted to break into the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, leading to a potential physical altercation, Israeli website Walla reported last night.
Gallant further threatened Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, stating his intention to bring in the Golan Brigade to control the situation in the War Cabinet, according to the website.
Dermer, who renounced his American citizenship to serve as the economic envoy to Washington before becoming an ambassador, is considered one of Netanyahu’s closest allies.
According to Walla, Netanyahu’s team monitored Gallant’s staff while recording the proceedings of security meetings on an audio tape. The tension escalated after Gallant left a recent War Cabinet meeting, reportedly due to his office director being barred from attending.
Israeli media previously reported that Gallant left the meeting last week after his assistant had been prevented from entering. The incident unfolded when Gallant entered the room and found five of Netanyahu’s aides inside. Netanyahu allegedly told Gallant that if his aides were absent, then Gallant’s assistant should not be allowed to attend, despite five of his staff already being present.
Netanyahu reportedly believes that the military is leaking information about discussions and bilateral talks. The situation has strained relations between Netanyahu and Gallant, with the war minister occasionally refusing to respond to calls from Netanyahu’s office for days.
Israeli Channel 13 has also revealed that Gallant had urged Netanyahu not to interfere with his work within the government. In a related context, British daily newspaper The Times, citing an unnamed Israeli security official, reported that the Israeli war cabinet is on the brink of collapse, with Netanyahu hesitating and wasting time.
In recent months, Israeli media has frequently highlighted ongoing disputes between Gallant and Netanyahu, particularly concerning the management of the war on Gaza and the day after. Netanyahu has repeatedly attempted to shift the responsibility for the war onto the military.
Many Israeli analysts suggest that each member of the War Cabinet is primarily focused on their political future rather than Israel’s interests.
Ofer Shiloh, a researcher at the Institute for National Security Studies, notes that council members are preparing for post-war scenarios, driven by the specter of Hamas’s suprise attack on October 7.
Shiloh adds that each member engages in aggressive media campaigns, claiming they are doing well, while blaming others for the shortcomings that led to the October 7 attack.
