Israeli threat: Jordan could be next after Lebanon

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- Former President of the Contractors Labor Union, Roni Mizrachi, has issued a veiled threat to Jordan, suggesting the country could be attacked by Israeli after Gaza and Lebanon. During an interview on an Israeli TV channel, Mizrahi, a prominent businessman and close ally of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said, “What we see in Lebanon today will happen in Jordan next.”

Mizrahi claimed that Israel’s goal is not to harm civilians but to target infrastructure, stressing that Israel possesses the capabilities to do so.

As tensions rise, Israel’s relationship with Jordan has become increasingly strained, particularly regarding border control. Al-Karama crossing, a key trade route between Jordan and the West Bank, remains closed, causing significant disruptions to trade. However, two other crossings—Sheikh Hussein and Wadi Araba, connecting the occupation state to Jordan—are still operational, allowing the flow of goods and people between Jordan and Israel.

The Palestinian National Transport Union reported that around 300 trucks that previously transported goods from Al-Karama crossing to the West Bank have halted operations due to the closure. Strict Israeli inspections of Jordanian trucks, including manual searches with advanced equipment and police dogs, have slowed down the movement of goods. Once on the Israeli side of Al-Karama crossing, the cargo is transferred to Palestinian trucks, which undergo similar inspections before entering Palestinian territories.

In response to these developments, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi addressed Israel’s peace agreement with Jordan during a press conference following a meeting of the Arab Islamic Ministerial Committee in Amman. Safadi dismissed the notion of canceling the peace treaty, stating that it remains in the best interest of both Jordan and Palestine.
