Israeli strike on Damascus, closure of airspace over Golan Heights

Damascus (QNN)- Israeli warplanes struck Jabal Al Mani’ in the South of Al Qunaitra in the Syrian capital, Damascus, last night.

A Syrian military source said: “at 23:50 on Wednesday, the Zionist enemy carried out an airstrike from the occupied Syrian Golan Heights at southern Damascus. The losses have been limited to material damage.”

The Syrian Observatory stated that strong sounds of bombings were heard after Tuesday midnight in the South of Damasus, resulted from an Israeli airstrike that targeted Syrian military sites in the South of Al Qunaitra which included militia affiliated to Iran.

Another Israeli strike targeted Syrian military sites that included militia affiliated to Iran in Jabal Mani’ in southern Damascus.

After the strikes, the occupation state closed the airspace over the occupied Golan Heights. Airlines were told that they would not be allowed to fly in the area at altitudes over 5,000 feet until July 31.

Israel has occupied most of the Syrian Golan Heights since the 1967 Middle East War. Last nights’ strikes were the 36th this year.
