Israeli soldiers mock and humiliate blindfolded Palestinians in latest footage

Jenin (QNN) – Israeli occupation soldiers continue to spark outrage with the dissemination of provocative videos that dehumanize the Palestinians, whether in Gaza or the West Bank. In the latest of these videos, soldiers are captured sitting in a house in the city of Jenin in the West Bank, smoking shisha, after binding the hands of Palestinian detainees and blindfolding them.

The widely circulated video shows Israeli army personnel smoking hookah, laughing, and quickly snapping photos. One soldier remarks, “Well, I didn’t imagine Jenin like this. What can I say to you!” He then instructs the cameraperson, “Show them what’s in front of me,” revealing handcuffed and blindfolded Palestinian detainees.

His companion, munching on potato chips, responds, “I didn’t imagine Jenin like this.” The soldiers then express their desire to “spend vacation on Gaza’s beach.”

Embarrassment for the Israeli leadership

Previous scenes depicting Israeli soldiers searching homes in Gaza—destroying plastic dolls in a toy store, attempting to burn food and water supplies in an abandoned truck, and others dancing to racist slogans—have caused embarrassment for Israeli officials.

These videos add to the torrent of footage portraying Israeli soldiers acting in a degrading and provocative manner in Gaza, contributing to international criticism of their aggressive tactics and the rising civilian casualty toll in the genocidal war on Gaza, as reported by the Associated Press.

Critics argue that these new videos, largely ignored within Israel, reflect a widespread nationalist sentiment supportive of the war on Gaza, amid limited sympathy for the plight of the innocent civilians in the region.
