Israeli soldier killed in fierce clashes with resistance in Jenin

Occupied West Bank (Quds News Network)- Fighting between the Israeli military and Palestinian resistance fighters in the West Bank city of Jenin has intensified following the Israeli attack, resulting in the death of an Israeli soldier and injuries to others. The clashes took place in the Jabariyat neighborhood of Jenin city, where resistance fighters set a carefully planned ambush in Al-Damaj neighborhood on Saturday morning.

The Israeli military, which has been attacking the area for 4 days, deployed helicopters after the resistance operation, which were seen flying heavily over the camp. Two helicopters were used to evacuate injured soldiers to Rambam Hospital in Haifa.

A senior commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, stated that the operation in Al-Damaj neighborhood is a message to the Israeli forces that their aggression in Jenin will face severe consequences. He emphasized that Al-Qassam and other resistance factions are prepared for prolonged confrontation and intense battles.

Quds News Network’s reporter in Jenin reported ongoing violent clashes, accompanied by massive explosions within Jenin refugee camp. The area has witnessed numerous incidents of heavy gunfire and explosive detonations following the Israeli raid.

For the fourth consecutive day, Israeli forces have continued their aggressive operations in Jenin, involving systematic destruction of infrastructure and residential homes. Meanwhile, resistance fighters have engaged in multiple skirmishes with Israeli troops, employing tactics such as gunfire exchanges and planting explosive devices to target military vehicles.

The Al-Qassam Brigades have confirmed that their fighters are engaged in fierce battles with Israeli forces in Kafr Dan, a town west of Jenin in the West Bank. They have also reported heavy clashes along the lines of Israeli incursion into Jenin, particularly at the camp’s entrance, where Israeli forces have suffered casualties and vehicle damage due to powerful explosive devices.

The Jenin Battalion of the Islamic Jihad’s Al-Quds Brigades successfully detonated a pre-planned explosive device in an Israeli military vehicle on Al-Jabriyyat Street. Other resistance fighters targeted Israeli forces gathered on Nablus Street in Jenin with two powerful explosive devices, causing further destruction.

Israeli ground troops have also stormed areas like Wadi Izz al-Din and Kafr Dan, leading to intense firefights with Palestinian resistance. The Israeli military has reportedly demolished several homes in Al-Jabariyat neighborhood adjacent to the Jenin camp.

Local sources have reported that Israeli forces besieged a house in Kafr Dan amidst heavy gunfire, further escalating the clashes. In addition, Israeli bulldozers have continued demolishing streets, infrastructure, and public properties in the eastern neighborhood of Jenin, exacerbating the humanitarian situation.

Israeli forces also stormed a mosque, causing extensive damage and converting it into a military outpost during their assault on the eastern part of the city. The occupation forces demolished the wall of a cemetery in the same area.

As of now, the Israeli military offensive in northern West Bank has killed 21 Palestinians, including 12 in Jenin, 5 in Tulkarm, and 4 in Tubas. Since October 7, 2023, the total number of Palestinians killed in the West Bank has risen to 673, reflecting the ongoing and deadly Israeli attacks.
