Israeli Soldier Admits Torturing a Father In Front Of His Child

Ramallah (QNN)- An Israeli soldier admitted on Sunday torturing a Palestinian father and his son after arresting them in Ramallah, the West Bank.
The Israeli prosecution had made a deal with the soldiers to admit his crime and be sentenced in return to six months and half only in prison in addition to a demotion in his military rank.
There are attempts to reach similar deals with other four soldiers, who were involved in torture crimes against Palestinians, one of whom was in a serious medical condition, according to Israeli Reshet 13.
The case dates back to the last January 8, when the five Netzah Yehuda soldiers, a battalion for extremist Haredi Jews only, tortured a Palestinian father and his son after handcuffing and blindfolding them in a military base near Beit El illegal settlement in Ramallah.
The soldiers removed the blindfold from the child’s eyes to force him see his father being tortured by breaking his ribs and nose, according to the indictment.
Although signing the United Nations Convention Against Torture, Israel have never harmonized its laws with the convention, according to a report by Adalah.
An Israeli military report revealed the last year that most cases filed by Palestinians against Israelis are rejected, while few cases get the chance to be sent to trials under international pressure.
