Israeli settlers storm Joseph’s tomb leaving 20 injuries among locals

Nablus (QNN)- Under Israeli army protection, Israeli settlers stormed Joseph’s tomb in occupied Nablus, leaving 20 injuries among native Palestinians.

QNN reporter said that Israeli vehicles stormed the West Bank city to secure a raid by hundreds of extremist settlers on Joseph’s tomb. Native Palestinians tried to confront the raid burning tires and using Molotov cocktails and stones.

The Israeli army responded targeting locals with stun and tear gas grenades in addition to rubber-coated metal rounds, leaving several injuries.

The Israeli army had secured the eastern area of the city, allowing hundreds of Jewish extremists to storm Joseph’s tomb and perform rituals.

The Red Crescent confirmed that its teams have dealt with 20 injuries during the confrontations.

Joseph’s Tomb is an Islamic shrine registered at the Islamic Waqf. It used to be a mosque before the Israeli occupation.

Although archaeologists stressed that the shrine was built to honor Sheikh Yousef Dweikat only few centuries ago, Israelis believe that it is the grave of the prophet Joseph, who died even before Jesus was born.
