Israeli police crack down on Marathon rejecting expulsions

Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- The Red Crescent said 23 runners were injured when Israeli police fired tear gas and stun grenades at a Marathon in solidarity with Palestinian families facing forced expulsion in occupied Jerusalem. Among the wounded was a medic.
Hundreds of runners participated in the event on Friday which began in Sheikh Jarrah and ended 3.5km (2 miles) away in Silwan. Dozens of Palestinians living in the two neighbourhoods face the threat of losing their homes to Israeli settlers.
The unners were wearing white T-shirts with “7,850” printed on them, representing the number of people facing forced expulsion in the city.
To say that they target civilians is an understatement. This is an army of cowards. pic.twitter.com/9n7BT00c4a

I am a runner.
I run marathons around whole world. Never have I been attacked violently by police forces as I was today, during the Jerusalem run from #SaveSheikhJarrah to #SaveSilwan.
I was beaten six times, attacked by Israeli forces, for running in my ancestral town & city. pic.twitter.com/155qoYuOxW— Jalal (@JalalAK_jojo) June 4, 2021
We ran 3.5 kilometres from Sheikh Jarrah to Silwan. I arrived at the finish line Batn Al-Hawa, Silwan neighbourhood under threat of ethnic cleansing by Israel.
All runners wore t-shirts that had # 7850 printed on back, the number of Palestinian Jerusalemites under threat. pic.twitter.com/XrBNPolGDg— Jalal (@JalalAK_jojo) June 4, 2021
Palestinians trying to keep the light on Sheikh Jarrah and Silwan by running a marathon were met with Israeli violence ranging from stun grenades to their special Death to Arabs brutality. https://t.co/mimmkxqeQm
