Israeli Officials: Trump Gave Green Light for Iran Strike Despite Public Denials

Washington (Quds News Network)- Two senior Israeli officials said that US President Donald Trump secretly approved Israel’s large-scale attack on Iran, reported Axios . They stressed that the US gave Israel a clear green light, despite public statements suggesting otherwise.

According to the officials, Trump and his aides only pretended to oppose the Israeli attack in public. Privately, they raised no objections. “We had a clear US green light,” one of the Israeli sources said.

The goal, they added, was to convince Iran that no strike was imminent. This would keep Iranian military and nuclear targets in place and vulnerable. Israeli officials say Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s team even briefed reporters that Trump had tried to stop the operation in a phone call. But in reality, they now admit, that call was about coordinating the timing and targets.

Hours after the attack, US President Trump posted a fiery message on Truth Social, confirming his support:

“I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal. I told them, in the strongest of words, to ‘just do it,’ but no matter how hard they tried… they just couldn’t get it done.
I told them it would be much worse than anything they know… that the United States makes the best and most lethal military equipment anywhere in the World, BY FAR, and that Israel has a lot of it, with much more to come — And they know how to use it.
Certain Iranian hardliners spoke bravely, but they didn’t know what was about to happen. They are all DEAD now, and it will only get worse!
There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter… come to an end.
Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left… JUST DO IT, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.”

Trump’s remarks came after the US administration publicly distanced itself from the strike. Secretary of State Marco Rubio quickly said Israel had acted “unilaterally.” He stressed there was no American military involvement.

Trump had confirmed he knew about the attack in advance. Still, he insisted the United States played no direct role in the operation.

What remains unclear is how much intelligence, logistical, or air defense support the US have provided behind the scenes. Israeli officials have hinted that coordination took place. However, Washington has not confirmed any specific assistance.
