Israeli minister: We have official, direct contact with Saudi Arabia

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The Israeli Regional Cooperation Minister Issawi Frej on Tuesday said that the occupation state is holding official and direct contact with Saudi Arabia.

“When it comes to Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states, there’s direct communication and understandings” Frej said in an interview with Al-Hurra, an Arabic-speaking channel funded by the US government.

Frej refused to provide further information about the nature of the contacts, adding that it was outside the scope of his office.

Saudi Arabia has no official ties with the occupation state. However, it is close to two regional partners — Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates — which normalized relations with the occupation state last year.

Reports said that Benjamin Netanyahu visited Saudi Arabia last November to hold covert discussions with Saudi crown prince Mohammad Bin Salman. The Saudi government denied the meeting publicly.

As soon as the Crown Prince, Muhammad Bin Salman, reached power, Saudi authorities started to crack down on supporters of the Palestinian resistance. The Saudi authorities arrested 69 Palestinian and Jordanian citizens and sentenced them for long periods in jail over supporting the resistance.
