Israeli minister accuses EU’s highest court of “lacking morality”

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The Israeli former minister and MK described last month’s decision of EU’s Court of Justice of being “immoral and illegal”.

Last month, the European Court of Justice insisted on the labeling of Israeli goods produced at illegal settlements in occupied Palestine. The decision has been denounced as an attack on the Jewish people by Gideon Sa’ar.

During a meeting that was attended by several legislators from various parts of the world, Sa’ar denounced the court for not “acting legally” and accused them of conveying a “lack of moral clarity.” His accusations, however, are at odds with international law, as the EU’s top court affirmed through last month’s judgment.

Israeli settlements are illegal under international law. The occupation state claims that the West Bank was given to Jewish people by God, which makes it legal to confiscate land and construct settlements.

Sa’ar also claimed that the court’s decision “is an attempt to delegitimize the right of the Jewish people to live and build our future in the land of our forefathers.”

Insisting that the Jewish people cannot be “occupiers” in their own land, ” Sa’ar concluded by calling on the EU, and on governments around the world, not to be “blind to the truth” and to “show moral clarity, when it comes to the conflict, and all the issues in the Middle East.”

Sa’ar’s statements come as a part of Israeli efforts to normalize and legitimize Israel’s colonization and illegal actions.

Pro-Israel lobby in different western countries has been organizing events about Israeli settlements, aiming at normalizing them and gain support among Europeans and Americans.
