Israeli Military Orders Soldiers Served in Gaza Genocide to Cancel Travel Plans, Remove Military Actions Evidence Amid Fears of Legal Action

Gaza (Quds News Network)- The Israeli military has reportedly instructed soldiers and officers who served in Gaza to cancel their travel plans and to remove any evidence of military actions from social media platforms, fearing that their involvement in the Gaza genocide war could result in legal proceedings or even arrest in some countries.

The military has identified about 30 cases where complaints were filed or even criminal proceedings were initiated against officers and soldiers who participated in the war on Gaza and were warned against travelling abroad, according to Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.

At least eight of them— including troops who had traveled to Cyprus, Slovenia and the Netherlands — were told to immediately leave those nations due to fears they could be arrested or questioned, Ynet reported.

The Israeli military is also advising soldiers who served in Gaza to remove any combat-related documentation, including images and videos of their actions during the assault, and to avoid posting such content on social media while abroad, Israel’s Ynet reported.

This move comes in response to growing concerns that pro-Palestinian groups filed complaints against them for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity, with the intent of initiating legal proceedings or detentions under international law.

The publication of videos depicting Israeli soldiers in Gaza, particularly by international media outlets like The Washington Post, has only heightened the pressure.

Some of these videos have already been cited in legal challenges and are feared to be used as evidence in potential ICC proceedings.

The Israeli military has acknowledged that media coverage, especially footage that may be interpreted as implicating soldiers in unlawful conduct, could complicate the legal standing of those involved.

Israeli soldiers have committed widespread abuses in Gaza, including potential war crimes, according to photos and videos they posted, shared and celebrated on their social media accounts.

Since invading Gaza, Israeli soldiers have routinely taken photos and videos of themselves blowing up homes and schools, and abusing prisoners. The crimes ranged from wanton destruction and looting, to the demolition of entire neighbourhoods and possible unlawful killings.

A new investigation published on Tuesday by The Washington Post revealed that Israeli soldiers have posted thousands of photos and videos from Gaza, recording their actions in the war and broadcasting them on social media. Though the Israeli military has ordered them not to film and post “revenge” videos, they have continued to appear online throughout the war.

“The result is a vast cache that gives a rare and troubling view of how some elements of the Israeli military have conducted themselves during one of the most deadly and destructive wars in recent memory,” The Post said.

Legal experts who reviewed videos compiled by The Post said in the most egregious cases soldiers are effectively logging evidence of possible violations of international humanitarian law.
