Israeli military court says Spanish woman sentenced to 13 months not connected to outlawed NGOs

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- After the Israeli government claimed that Juana Rashmawi was related to the six blacklisted Palestinian human rights organizations, an Israeli military court said on Tuesday that the Spanish-Palestinian woman is not and sentenced her to 13 months in prison.

An Israeli military court refuted on Tuesday a claim by the war and foreign ministries that the government hoped to use as justification for its labeling of six Palestinian organizations as terror groups.

The Spanish woman convicted of fundraising for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, whose case the occupation state planned to cite as evidence that its decision was valid, was unaware of and did not take part in the six organizations’ activities, said the military court at the Ofer military base.

The Israeli court, however, sentenced Rashmawi (63 years old) to 13 months in prison, as well as, a 50,000 shekel ($16,000) fine.
