Israeli gunboats attack Palestinian fishermen in northern Gaza Strip
Occupied Palestine (QNN) – Israeli gunboats on Tuesday opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats sailing off the coast of Beit Lahia in the northern besieged Gaza Strip.
Local sources reported that the gunboats opened heavy fire towards Palestinian fishing boats sailing off the coast of the northern Gaza Strip.
The sources added that no injuries have been reported among the fishermen.
Israeli occupation forces routinely open fire on unarmed Palestinian fishermen sailing within the allowed-nautical-miles zone and also towards shepherds and farmers along the border fence.
Israeli human rights group B’Tselem has said that Israel’s blockade against Gaza and harassment of fishermen have been destroying Gaza’s fishing sector, with 95% of fishermen living below the poverty line.
