Israeli Group shares video of Al-Aqsa Mosque burning, sparking outrage

Occupied Jerusalem (Quds News Network)- The Israeli group “Temple Mount Activists” has published a provocative video depicting Al-Aqsa Mosque engulfed in flames, accompanied by the caption, “Soon, in these days.” The video is a direct reference to the group’s longstanding goal of destroying the mosque and replacing it with a Jewish temple, marking a dangerous escalation in the ongoing threats to the sacred Muslim site.

Al-Aqsa Mosque preacher, Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, condemned the video in a statement to Quds News Network, saying, “This video confirms what we have been warning about for years—that these extremist groups are determined to seize control of Al-Aqsa. They believe this is the right time to carry out their aggressive plans against the mosque.”

Sabri stressed that these ambitions are not new, but part of an ongoing campaign to dominate the Islamic site. “We warn against any action to realize these plans,” he added. Sabri reaffirmed the religious significance of Al-Aqsa to Muslims worldwide, stating, “The mosque’s status is divinely decreed, and it serves as the gateway between heaven and earth. It is above any human laws, negotiations, or compromises.”

This alarming video follows recent developments in which Israel’s government officially announced funding for increased settler incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque. In August, the Ministry of Heritage in Israel declared that its new budget would be allocated to promoting the Jewish narrative of the Temple Mount, aiming to counter what it claims are “anti-Semitic narratives.” The funds are intended to support the production and dissemination of Zionist narratives that frame the mosque as the site of a Jewish temple. This marks the first time the Israeli government has provided official backing for what has been, until now, a campaign primarily driven by various settler organizations.

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir had publicly stated his intention to establish a synagogue inside Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. Ben-Gvir claimed that Israeli law grants equal rights to Muslims and Jews to pray at the site, further inflaming tensions in the occupied Palestinian capital city.

Meanwhile, Israeli domestic intelligence chief Ronen Bar recently warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the severe consequences of such actions. Bar cautioned that the continuous settler attacks and Ben-Gvir’s provocations at Al-Aqsa were causing “indescribable damage” to Israel’s reputation, and urged the government to take immediate action to prevent further escalation.
