Israeli Forces Raid Nablus Hospital, Kidnap Wounded Palestinian
Occupied West Bank (Quds News Network)- An Israeli special forces unit stormed the Arab Specialist Hospital in the West Bank city of Nablus on Wednesday evening. The soldiers arrested Ayman Ghanem, a wounded young man receiving medical care after being injured by Israeli shelling near Aqaba in Tubas Governorate.
Local sources reported that Israeli forces disguised themselves in civilian clothes and vehicles to infiltrate the hospital. Once inside, they forcibly expelled everyone from the ward where Ghanem was being treated. They removed his medical equipment and kidnapped him directly from his hospital bed.
The kidnapping follows an Israeli airstrike on Tuesday that targeted a vehicle near Aqaba. The attack killed two Palestinians and wounded Ghanem. Afterward, Israeli forces surrounded Tubas Governmental Hospital and kidnapped several medical staff members, including a doctor.
This incident is part of a recurring pattern of Israeli military actions targeting hospitals and medical personnel. During every escalation, Israeli forces have blockaded hospitals, disrupted medical teams, and prevented them from performing their duties.
In late January 2024, undercover Israeli forces, known as “Mistaravim,” raided Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin. They assassinated three Palestinians: brothers Mohammed and Basel Ayman Al-Ghazzawi, and Mohammed Walid Jalameh. Basel was injured and receiving treatment at the hospital when he was killed.
The Ministry of Health says Israeli forces have intensified attacks on healthcare facilities since October 7, 2023. The World Health Organization reported over 600 assaults on medical centers and personnel in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, during this period.
