Israeli forces physically assault and arrest Palestinian protesters as court delays Silwan explusion ruling

Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- Palestinian Protesters were met with violence by Israeli occupation forces outside a court hearing of an appeal lodged by two Palestinian families facing forced displacement from Batn al-Hawa area of Silwan in occupied Jerusalem.
The protesters were holding placards with messages including, “No to deportation,” “Save Silwan” and “Save Sheikh Jarrah.”
On November 2020, seven eviction rulings were issued by the Israeli High Court in Jerusalem ordering the eviction of seven Palestinian families, over 87 Palestinians, in Batn al-Hawa to be replaced by Israeli settlers.
Two of the families, the Abu Nab family and the Gaith family had their appeal cases heard today, June 10, but the decision on the appeal was postponed by the Court until July 8.
Outside the courthouse, the Israeli forces used violence to suppress dozens of demonstrators supporting the neighbourhood’s families, assaulting and beating them.
A young Palestinian man, Bassel Dweik, was physically assaulted and arrested by the forces as he was protesting before the Israeli Supreme Court in Jerusalem today.
