Israeli Forces Kill West Bank Palestinian Teen in Bed

20-year-old Jassem al-Sidda was shot while sleeping during a raid on his village. Residents say Israeli troops left him to bleed to death.

Occupied West Bank (Quds News Network)- Mourners filled the streets of Jit village east of Qalqilya in the West Bank today. They carried the body of 20-year-old Jassem Ibrahim al-Sidda, a young Palestinian man shot and killed by Israeli soldiers at dawn.

His family says he was asleep in his bed when soldiers stormed the house. They shot him multiple times and left him to bleed on the floor. Witnesses say he never stood a chance.

The Israeli army later handed his body to Palestinian medics at the village entrance. They rushed him to Darwish Nazzal Hospital in Qalqilya. But it was too late.

Jassem was the youngest in his family. He worked on a small street cart to help support them.

Today, hundreds gathered to bury him. The funeral began at the hospital and continued through the streets of Jit. Villagers and relatives shouted slogans condemning Israeli crimes. They performed final prayers at the old mosque. Then, they laid him to rest in the village cemetery.

His killing sparked anger across the occupied West Bank.

Earlier this morning, Israeli forces raided homes in Jit. They searched several houses, including the family home of Jassem. Locals say the raid was violent and unprovoked.

In other parts of the West Bank, Israeli troops carried out more arrests. In Bethlehem, they detained two men: Shadi Ali Hassasneh, 40, and Ibrahim Walid Sabah from Tuqu’.

In the village of al-Mazra’a al-Gharbiya, northwest of Ramallah, they arrested three more — including two 15-year-old boys: Abdulrahman Hanoon and Mohammad Dadawyeh. Soldiers reportedly ransacked the homes during the arrests.

Meanwhile, Israeli settlers continued their attacks. In the village of Ramon, east of Ramallah, settlers sneaked in at dawn. They torched several cars and spray-painted racist slogans on homes.

Earlier, settlers stormed the village of Qaryut, south of Nablus. They burned seven cars and destroyed crops in the nearby village of al-Mughayyer.

Last night, undercover Israeli forces beat a Palestinian man in front of his family. The assault happened outside Mohammad al-Khatib’s home in Shu’fat refugee camp in occupied Jerusalem.

The wave of violence and home raids has left many Palestinians fearing for their lives. Grief and rage are growing in every corner of the West Bank. Villagers say Jassem al-Sidda’s killing is yet another brutal reminder of what it means to be young and Palestinian under occupation.
