Israeli Forces Kill Palestinian in Nablus, Settlers Carry Out Pogrom in Duma

Occupied West Bank (Quds News Network)- Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian man in Nablus on Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, hundreds of settlers carried out a pogrom in Duma village in the northern West Bank, shooting at native Palestinians and setting fire to their property.

Medical sources confirmed the death of Hamza Al-Khammash, 33, after he was critically wounded by Israeli gunfire.

Israeli troops stormed Nablus’ Old City, raided Al-Khammash’s home, and shot him at close range. A bullet struck his thigh, and he later died from his injuries. Another Palestinian was injured when an Israeli military vehicle ran him over during the raid.

Israeli forces also raided a home in the village of Zawata, west of Nablus, preparing it for demolition.

At the same time, three Palestinians were shot, and settlers burned two livestock farms and five vehicles in a pogrom in Duma, south of Nablus.

According to village council chief Suleiman Dawabsheh, around 300 settlers stormed the western side of the village. They attacked homes, torched vehicles and livestock farms, and fired at residents. Locals confronted the attackers, leading to injuries.

Palestinian Red Crescent sources reported that a 35-year-old man was shot in the leg, a 45-year-old was hit by bullet fragments in his eye and hand, and a 17-year-old was shot in the eye with a rubber bullet. All were hospitalized.

Firefighting teams managed to put out the flames. The attack occurred while Israeli military and police forces were stationed at the village entrance.

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich toured West Bank settlements alongside Defense Minister Yisrael Katz and senior military officers.

Smotrich said the government had approved 28 new settlements since taking office. He insisted that settlers “are not second-class citizens” and have the same right to security as other Israelis.

He claimed that the West Bank, which he referred to as “Judea and Samaria,” is the Jewish homeland and vowed that Israel would remain there permanently.

Meanwhile, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir led a settler incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque under heavy police protection.

Dozens of settlers entered in groups through Al-Magharbeh Gate. They performed rituals in the mosque’s courtyards. Israeli police removed Al-Aqsa guards from the area. The group led by Ben-Gvir also moved close to the Al-Qibli Prayer Hall.

Israeli forces and settlers have intensified attacks in the West Bank, including the eastern part of occupied Jerusalem. Since October 7, more than 940 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 7,000 injured.

Meanwhile, in Gaza, Israel’s ongoing genocide has killed over 164,000 Palestinians and left 14,000 missing. The assault continues with full U.S. support.
