Israeli Forces Kill 12-Year-Old Boy During Raid on Qalandiya Camp

Occupied Jerusalem (Quds News Network)- Israeli forces shot and killed a 12-year-old Palestinian boy, Hatem Sami Hisham Gheith, during a military raid on Qalandiya Refugee Camp, north of occupied Jerusalem.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, Gheith was fatally wounded when Israeli soldiers opened fire at the boy early Monday morning. The child was struck by a bullet in the abdomen, causing severe damage to his intestines. He was rushed to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah, where doctors fought to save his life, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

Four other Palestinians were injured during the confrontations, which saw intense exchanges between Israeli troops and local youths following the killing of the boy. The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that one of the injured was in critical condition and required CPR before being stabilized.

The raid on Qalandiya resulted in the kidnapping of at least 16 Palestinians. Israeli forces stormed homes, detaining residents as part of a larger crackdown across the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem on the anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation.

This tragic incident comes amid rising tensions and a sweeping Israeli military operation that has intensified across multiple areas of the West Bank. In a separate raid earlier today, Israeli forces killed an elderly Palestinian man in Dura, Hebron, after severely beating him during a home invasion.

Today’s events have added to the mounting death toll since the October 7, 2024, escalation, with Palestinian casualties growing amidst heightened Israeli security measures.
