Israeli Forces Halt Gaza’s Northern Civil Defense Operations, Leaving Thousands Vulnerable to Attacks

Gaza (Quds News Network)- The Gaza Civil Defense has announced that their operations in the northern part of the Gaza Strip have been completely halted due to Israeli threats to attack Civil Defense personnel. The suspension has left thousands of residents without access to critical humanitarian services, as the situation in the region deteriorates rapidly.

In a statement, the Civil Defense confirmed that Israeli forces stationed in the Sheikh Zayed area had kidnapped five of their personnel, taking them to an undisclosed location. Additionally, the only fire truck operating in northern Gaza was targeted by Israeli tanks, which fired shells at the vehicle, setting it ablaze.

The statement further revealed that three Civil Defense workers went missing after being directly targeted by an Israeli drone in Beit Lahiya. Contact with them has been lost, and their fate remains unknown.

In a separate incident, a missile from an Israeli drone struck Civil Defense teams in northern Gaza, resulting in injuries to three staff members. The Israeli drone had reportedly demanded the workers abandon their vehicles and cease all operations before heading to the Sheikh Zayed area, where displaced civilians are currently being surrounded by Israeli forces.

The Gaza Civil Defense has issued an urgent appeal to international humanitarian organizations, including the Red Cross and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), calling for immediate intervention to protect their personnel and ensure that essential services can continue in northern Gaza.

With the halt of Civil Defense operations, over 150,000 residents in northern Gaza are now left without essential emergency and rescue services, increasing their vulnerability amidst ongoing savage Israeli airstrikes and shelling.
