Israeli forces detain three Palestinian children from Ramallah’s town of Sinjil
Occupied Palestine (QNN) - Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Saturday detained three Palestinian children from the town of Sinjil to the northeast of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
Local sources reported that the Israeli forces detained Ala Asfour,11, Mohammed Ghefari, 13, and Yusuf Asfour,13, after breaking into their families’ homes and ransacking them.
The sources added that the Israeli forces detained the three children allegedly for throwing stones towards Israeli settlers’ vehicles near the town.
Israeli occupation forces routinely carry out arrest raids in the West Bank. Around 40 percent of Palestinian men living in the occupied territories have been detained by Israel at some point in their lives.
According to Palestinian figures, about 4,500 Palestinians, including 32 women and 160 children, are currently languishing in Israeli detention jails.
Two Palestinians, including a 14-year-old boy, were shot and killed by Israeli settlers on Tuesday in the village of Al-Mughayyir in the occupied West Bank. A total of four Palestinians have been killed so far today by Israeli settlers and forces across the occupied territories, including two children, amid a spike in settler violence against Palestinians.
Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot has urged the EU to impose sanctions on Israel ahead of a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg, joining seven EU countries, including France and Sweden, in the call. He also slammed the Israeli assault on Lebanon as “totally unacceptable.”
France and Sweden have co-signed a paper urging the European Union to ban imports from illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank, and to consider tariffs and tighter import restrictions on such goods.
