Occupied Palestine (QNN) - Israeli forces detained in March at least 470 Palestinian citizens, including 64 children and 7 women, the Palestinian Prisoners' Center for Studies has said.
the center pointed out that the Israeli occupation escalated its raids and detention campaigns against the Palestinian people across the occupied Palestinian territories.
Occupied Jerusalem has seen the highest number of detentions, with 176 Palestinians detained by the Israeli occupation authorities last month, the center indicated.
As to the Gaza Strip, the center added, Israeli occupation detained nine Palestinians, including two who were passing through the Beit Hanoun crossing.
Also, the Israeli occupation forces detained three members of the Palestinian Legislative Council, bringing the number of Palestinian lawmakers held in Israeli prisons to nine.
The center named the three members as Nasser Abdel Jawad, Ahmad Atoun and Khalil Rabei.
According to Palestinian figures, about 4,850 Palestinians, including 34 women and 160 children, are currently languishing in Israeli detention jails.
The number of amputees in Gaza Strip, already between 5,000 and 6,000, is expected to rise as Israel continues to restrict the entry of much-needed aid, including medical supplies, into the war-torn enclave, a humanitarian organization has warned. The alert comes after two years of genocide and despite the so-called US-backed ceasefire.
