Israeli forces demolish Palestinian-owned house in Bethlehem

Bethlehem (QNN)- Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday morning demolished a Palestinian-owned house in the Nahalin town, west of Bethlehem, in the occupied West Bank.
Local sources said Israeli occupation soldiers escorted bulldozer to the abu Keir area in the town of Nahalin, after closing its entrances and prevented its residents from reaching it, and started demolishing a Palestinian-owned house.
Following the demolition operation, the forces attacked the Palestinian residents by firing tear gas canisters and sound bombs.
On 7 December, the Israeli occupation forces raided the town of Nahalin and demolished three agricultural rooms owned by Palestinian residents, before brutally assaulting the residents who tried to prevent the demolition operation. The three rooms are located in two different parts of the town.
On 13 December, the Israeli occupation authotities also handed a Palestinian family a notice, ordering it to self-demolish its under-construction house in the Nahalin town, using the pretext of building without a permit.
Israeli occupation constantly demolishes structures and houses of Palestinians in Area C, claiming they were built without a permit, rarely, if ever, issued for Palestinians by the occupation authorities.
The occupation authorities also do not allow any development there while using the occupied land for its illegal settlement activities.
Under the 1995 Oslo Accords between ‘Israel’ and the Palestinian Authority, the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, was divided into three portions — Area A, B and C.
Area C is currently home to around 300,000 Palestinians.
Thus, house and structures demolitions, confiscation of the most basic infrastructure and military training exercises are part of everyday reality in the area.
There are nearly 700,000 Israeli settlers living in 256 illegal settlements and outposts scattered across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Israeli settlements are illegal under international law.
