Israeli forces demolish Palestinian-owned agricultural structure in Tulkarm

Tulkarm (QNN)- Israeli occupation forces earlier on Wednesday demolished a Palestinian-owned agricultural structure in the town of Qaffin, north-east Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank, and detained its owner.

Local sources said the forces earlier today escorted bulldozers to the area and started demolishing a sheep barn and a water tank owned by the Palestinian resident of the town, Nidal Ajouli, who was detained by the forces after demolishing his barn.

This is not the first time the forces demolished a structure in the same area, as a year and a half ago, the forces demolished a cement room.

In many Palestinian communities located in Area C of the West Bank under full Israeli military control, Israeli-designated “firing zones” or “closed military zones” are forbidden for Palestinians to live on without permission from the Israeli occupation authorities, which is rarely granted.

Home and structures demolitions, confiscation of the most basic infrastructure and military training exercises are part of everyday reality in the area, forcing many to live in natural caves, in a bid to make way for the building of illegal settlements.

There are nearly 700,000 Israeli settlers living in 256 illegal settlements and outposts scattered across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Israeli settlements are illegal under international law.
