Israeli forces brutally attack Palestinians taking part in funeral procession in Jerusalem

Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- Israeli occupation forces on Monday brutally attacked Palestinians taking part in the funeral procession of a youth who succumbed to his injuries sustained in one of Israel’s raids of Jeruslaem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque during last month of Ramadan.

On Monday evening, local sources reported, dozens of well-armed Israeli forces brutally attacked hundreds of Palestinian mourners participating in the funeral procession of Walid Al-Sharif and fired live bullets, teargas and stun grenades at them.

The forces also used skunk water cannons in attacking and dispersing the mourners.

The Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed that they treated at least 70 people who sustained injuries by rubber-coated steel bullets, beating, stun grenades and tear gas canisters.

The occupation forces also arrested at least 16 people.

On April 22, Walid Al-Sharif was shot in the head by a rubber-coated metal bullet fired by Israeli occupation forces who attacked thousnads of Palestinian worshipers at Al-Aqsa mosque, including Al-Sharif, while marking the third Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.

That day, the Israeli forces injured at least 57 people, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.

Al-Sharif was arrested by the Israeli forces before he was rushed to a hospital to get medical treatment as his condition was described as critical.

Local sources reported that Al-Sharif, a 21-year-old resident of Beit Hanina neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem, died in the hospital on Saturday after he was in a coma since he was injured, causing him a head laceration and severe bleeding in the brain.
