Israeli forces attack hunger-striking administrative detainee at hospital

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The detainee Maher Al Akhras continues his hunger strike for the 90th day, in protest against his administrative detention without charges or trial. He has reportedly lost consciousness while he was being brutally transferred at Kaplan hospital today.

A group of Israeli Shin Bet members and jailers, as well as security members, stormed his room at the hospital and forced his wife out before they harshly threw him to the ground then put him in a wheelchair in order to transfer him to a mother section, according to Maher Al Akhras himself.

Al Akhras told his lawyer, Ahlam Haddad, that he felt severe headache and pain throughout his body.

“This is the first time I feel such pain”, Al Akhras said. “My body kept shaking and I couldn’t see anything. That as at around 2:00 pm”

“A medical team gathered around me but I told them not to touch me and I don’t want their treatment”, he added. “I don’t know what happened after that. I woke up to find a doctor trying to wake me up. That was at 5:00 pm.”

“Three hours have passed while I was unconscious. Today, I feel that I’m very weak and that my whole body is shaking. I suffer from poor concentration and vision and I feel pressure on my heart.”

Maher Al Akhras, who has been on a hunger strike for 90 days, said he wants to see his mother and children around him and that he doesn’t want to die at Kaplan hospital. He added that he doesn’t want any medical help from the Israeli hospital.

“If they want to help me, they can transfer me to any hospital in the West Bank. I want to die among my family and sons.”
