Israeli forces arrest Palestinians protesting against Ben-Gvir raid of Bab Al Amoud
Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- Israeli occupation forces on Thursday have arrested several Palestinians protesting against the Israeli far-right Otzma Yehudit leader Itamar Ben-Gvir raid of the Damascus Gate of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.
The forces used at least five stun grenades to suppress the Palestinian protesters who objected to Ben-Gvir’s visit.
Ben-Gvir has raided the Damascus Gate in a protest against the decision to bar him from marching to al-Haram al-Sharif on Thursday.
Yesterday, the head of the Israeli Knesset Guard informed Ben-Gvir that the occupation police inspector general would not permit him to march in the occupied city of Jerusalem on Thursday.
Ben-Gvir informed the Knesset Guard head on Tuesday that he intends to visit the al-Haram al-Sharif, which they called the “Temple Mount”, as Wednesday and Thursday, after he was barred from entering it on Tuesday morning, according to Israeli Channel 12 news.
Israsli cabinet decided on Tuesday to delay the so-called flag march to allow the occupation police and event organizers to reach an agreement on an outline for the march.
The Palestinian resistance in Gaza had warned several times of holding the march, which is planned to go through occupied Jerusalem and parts of Al Aqsa mosque, Islam’s third-holiest mosque.
The Joint Chamber of the Resistance in Gaza said on June 7 in a statement that it is observing the behaviour of the Zionist enemy in the Palestinian capital city and that it will be ready to fight if the enemy decides to go back to before May 11.
The resistance also called on the Palestinian people in the occupied Jerusalem, West Bank and the 1948-occupied land to continue their uprising against the Israeli occupation, promising to back them in their struggle for freedom.
